The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
