The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
