The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 It will engulf them. 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
