Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 100 Those townships! We recount unto thee some tidings thereof. Assuredly there came unto them their apostles with evidences, but they were not such as to believe that which they had erst belied. Thus doth Allah put a seal upon the hearts of the infidels. 101 We found no covenant in the most part of them; indeed, We found the most part of them ungodly. 102 Then We sent, after them, Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his Council, but they did them wrong; so behold thou, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 103 Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are of the truthful ones. 106 Thereupon Moses threw his rod, and suddenly it was a veritable serpent. 107 Then he drew out his hand, and it appeared luminous to all beholders. 108
