The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
