The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
