The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed towards your Lord only is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Bethinkest thou, if he belieth and turneth away? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
