A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you by your Lord, and do not follow any other lord apart from Him. Yet little do you care to remember. 3 How many a city We have destroyed! Our might came upon it at night, or while they took their ease in the noontide, 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 And as for those whose scale will be light, they are those who will lose their ownselves (by entering Hell) because they denied and rejected Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
