Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear. 100 These towns-- We relate to you some of their stories, and certainly their apostles came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they rejected at first; thus does Allah set a seal over the hearts of the unbelievers 101 And We did not find in most of them any (faithfulness to) covenant, and We found most of them to be certainly transgressors. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 Moses said, 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being, 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are of the truthful ones. 106 Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest! 107 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white to the beholders. 108
