Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
