Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ALIF LAM MIM. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 a guide and a mercy for those who do good, 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 Abiding in them; the promise of Allah; (a) true (promise), and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
