The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
