Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
