S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Or have they the treasuries of thy Lord's mercy, the All-mighty, the All-giving? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 To the truth gave the lie aforetime Noah's people, and [the tribe of] Ad, and Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles, 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
