Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 By this luminous Book. 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
