The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
