Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
Almighty God's Truth.
