۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 Are we not then to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
