We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 and We helped them, so that they were victorious; 116 We gave them the enlightening Book, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 This is how We reward the virtuous. 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 when he spoke [thus] to his people: "Will you not remain conscious of God? 124 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - 125 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 save an old woman among those that tarried; 135 and We destroyed the rest. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 And at night. Will ye not therefore reflect? 138
