96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and serried acacias, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 and raised couches 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
