The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
