The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
