Before him Noah cried out to Us, and We heard his prayer. We saved him and all his household from a great distress. 76 and helped him against the nation who had belied Our signs. They were an evil nation; We drowned them all. 77 And (remember) Dawud (David) and Sulaiman (Solomon), when they gave judgement in the case of the field in which the sheep of certain people had pastured at night and We were witness to their judgement. 78 To Solomon We inspired the (right) understanding of the matter: to each (of them) We gave Judgment and Knowledge; it was Our power that made the hills and the birds celebrate Our praises, with David: it was We Who did (all these things). 79 And We taught him the art of making garments (of mail) to protect you in your daring. Are ye then thankful? 80 And We subjected the fast wind for Sulaiman, which moved by his command towards the land in which We have placed blessings; and We know everything. 81 And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them. 82 ۞ And Job, when he cried unto his Lord, (saying): Lo! adversity afflicteth me, and Thou art Most Merciful of all who show mercy. 83 We therefore heard his prayer and removed the adversity that had afflicted him, and We gave him his family and in addition bestowed along with them a similar number, by mercy from Ourselves – and an advice for the people who worship. 84 And Ismail and Idris and Zulkifl; all were of the patient ones; 85 And We admitted them into Our mercy, for they were of the righteous. 86 And Yunus, when he went away in wrath, so he thought that We would not straiten him, so he called out among afflictions: There is no god but Thou, glory be to Thee; surely I am of those who make themselves to suffer loss. 87 We heard his cry, and saved him from the anguish. That is how We deliver those who believe. 88 Remember Zachariah, when he called out to his Lord, "Do not leave me heirless Lord, You are the best of heirs." 89 So We listened to him: and We granted him Yahya: We cured his wife's (Barrenness) for him. These (three) were ever quick in emulation in good works; they used to call on Us with love and reverence, and humble themselves before Us. 90 And remember the woman who maintained her chastity, We therefore breathed Our Spirit into her and made her and her son a sign for the entire world. 91 Indeed this religion of yours, is one religion; and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me. 92 But they divided themselves into factions, but to Us they shall all return. 93
