No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
