Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
