Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power? 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 "Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day." 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 "And we are not going to be punished." 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
