The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Behold, Shu'aib said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
