So did you observe him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
Almighty Allah's Truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
