The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then he mustered 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
