The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
