The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
