Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned (by oppression and evil deeds, etc.), that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah, and begging His Pardon). 41 Say: 'Journey in the land, then behold how was the end of those that were before; most of them were idolaters.' 42 So set thy face to the true religion before there comes a day from God that cannot be turned back; on that day they shall be sundered apart. 43 Whoever disbelieves, then the calamity of his disbelief is only on him; and those who do good deeds, are preparing for themselves. 44 That He may reward those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous good deeds, out of His Bounty. Verily, He likes not the disbelievers. 45 for among His wonders is this: He sends forth [His messages as He sends forth] the winds that bear glad tidings, so that He might give you a taste of His grace [through life-giving rains,] and that ships might sail at His behest, and that you might go about in quest of some of His bounties, and that you might have cause to be grateful. 46 And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers. 47 It is God who sends the breezes that raise clouds, then spreads them over the sky as He please, fold on fold, then you see the drops of rain issue from between them. When He sends it down to those of His creatures as He will, they are filled with joy, 48 And verily before that (rain), just before it was sent down upon them, they were in despair! 49 Look at the traces of the mercy of God, how He has revived the dead earth. God revives the dead; He has power over all things. 50 But if We were to send a wind and then their tilth has become yellow, they would never cease to disbelieve. 51 You cannot make the dead hear you, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they retreat, turning about. 52 Nor can you lead away the blind out of their error. You cannot make to hear any but those who believe in Our communications so they shall submit. 53
