And whatever affliction befalls you, it is on account of what your hands have wrought, and (yet) He pardons most (of your faults). 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 if He willed, He could bring the wind to a standstill and they would lie motionless on the surface of the sea, truly there are signs in this for anyone who is steadfast and grateful, 33 Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much - 34 Let those who dispute Our signs know that there is no way of escape for them. 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 who refrain from heinous sins and gross indecencies; who forgive when they are angry; 37 And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them, 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 The meed of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereunto; but whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his hire is on Allah; verily He approveth not the wrong-doers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
