The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And the Book written 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 The day the sky will tremble, 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
