Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
