The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 "And weigh with the true and straight balance. 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 191
