We were indeed gracious to Moses and Aaron, 114 And delivered them and their people from the great affliction. 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 guided them to the right path, 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 Peace be unto Musa and Harun. 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. 123 When he said unto his folk: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 and him We left thus to be remembered among later generations: 129 Peace be unto Elias! 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 And indeed, you pass by them in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
