S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad, by the Holy Reading (Koran) of the Remembrance. 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And their leaders went about, “Leave him and cling steadfastly to your Gods! Indeed he has a hidden objective in this!” 6 We have not heard of this in later religion. This is naught but an invention. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 Each of them who rejected the Messenger become subject to Our punishment. 14
