The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book 1 a guidance and a glad tiding to the believers 2 who establish their prayers, and pay the obligatory charity, and are certain of the Everlasting Life. 3 Lo! as for those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their works fairseeming unto them so that they are all astray. 4 They are those who will suffer the worst chastisement in this life, and will be the greatest losers in the life to come. 5 As for you, (O Muhammad), you are receiving the Qur'an from the Most Wise, the All-Knowing. 6 [Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves." 7 But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" 8 O Musa! verily it is I, Allah, the Mighty the Wise! 9 And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear. 10 except he who has committed some wrong. But if he substitutes good in place of evil, I am Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate. 11 Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." 12 Then when Our enlightening signs came to them, they said, “This is clear magic.” 13 And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters. 14
