And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from those [who deny the truth,] 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
