Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
