The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In parchment spread open 3 by the much-visited House, 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 none can avert that. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 and the mountains shall violently fly about. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We shall succour them with fruits and flesh such as they desire 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
