The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 has created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 whereas the invisible beings He has created out of a confusing flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
