Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
