Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
