The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
