The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
