The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 that you shall surely ride from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
