The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 and a few from later times. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
