Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 Honourablel scribes. 11 They know whatever you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 They will burn in it on the Day of Judgement, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
